Meet Devya — DJ to everyone who loves her.
Devya has been drawing since she could hold a crayon. Diagnosed with autism at 2, she spoke her first word at 2.5 — and has been finding her own ways to communicate ever since. Where words sometimes fall short, her art speaks clearly and boldly.
Her drawing follows phases — in any given month, she's deep in a theme, exploring it from every angle. Almost everything she draws is animated: hearts, boxes, houses, fruits — they all get faces, expressions, personalities. She has a deep love of fashion too, dressing up in elaborate makeshift outfits and channeling that same creativity into the intricate costumes and patterns of her characters.
Most of her artwork never survives for long — she folds it into pouches, turns it into pillows, makes it part of her play. This site is our way of preserving it before it transforms into something else, and sharing her unique, expressive world with everyone.
